A Texas Roofing Company

Introduction
Can a roofing company look classy and glamorous?

The answer is yes!

I was so excited to work on this re-brand. There was so much opportunity to create something nicer that stood out compared to local competition.

The tools I used for this project were:
-
My Supernote to draw initial sketches / concepts
-
Adobe Illustrator

The old brand
The old logo did its job, but there was so much room to take this to the next level.

The client liked the roof motif, so we experimented with some styles to keep it.

The colour palette gave us a lot of opportunity as well. AWR were using a dull grey, and I knew I could make a big difference with colour alone.
The competition
These are some similar brands in the area.

Early Experiments
I wanted to give the client a few ideas to choose from so I presented these 3 options.

Finessing
The client loved option 3, but wanted a font that wasn't stylised.

The challenge with this design was that the letters AWR meant for difficult kerning.

Half the battle was finding a font that had balanced kerning with the A and the R when near the W, and then tweaking the outlines in Illustrator so that the kerning was just perfect. I used red objects to measure the space and get it pixel perfect.

These fine details and adjustments helped to make the finished product look harmonious.
Colour Palette
I chose some colours that looked professional and classic.

Blue and gold aligned well with this strong Texan brand. The client loved the new colour palette from the start.

Typography
The choice for the Heading is Sackers Gothic Heavy. Again, this is a strong choice which aligns with the logo and colour palette.

The paragraph text moves on to be a more readable Poppins.

Our plan is to roll this font out across a new website redesign, as well as on social media.
